Called the First Flush by the planting community. These teas are made from the leaves of bushes that have been in hibernation during the three harsh winter months when no tea is manufactured. They mark the onset of a new year of production and a premium has been paid on these teas by importers from all over the world. This taste can never again be replicated in Darjeeling during the whole year.

Take one heaped teaspoon of tea per 200 ml of freshly boiled water. Use a tea pot or a carafe. Pour water onto the tea. Cover and brew for at least 4 to 5 minutes. Adjust brewing time with strength and taste desired. Do not add milk or sugar. Rinse pot after wards with hot water only. Do not use soap.
